The Loudest Penis

Common sense suggests that the larger the animal, the louder its sound. In most cases this is true, but there are exceptions. One of the loudest sounds in the animal world is made by a tiny insect called the lesser water boatman:

His song is so loud that when scientists first heard it they assumed there was something wrong with their microphones. But it turned out this tiny beetle was producing almost eighty decibels by vibrating his penis underwater at an astonishing rate.
